This stein is fashioned after a stein created in 1810 in the Westerwald in Germany. Represtenting the second stein in the Limität series, this unique creation is characterized by a dramatic combination of diverse stein forms. The rounded bulbous base of the stein is richly adorned with ornate decorative designs. The slender top portion presents the central motif in dramatic three-dimensional bas-relief. A medieval knight on horseback in full armor in days of old the armor served to protect the knight from injury and death, but since the 17th century it is worn only for pomp and ceremonial purposes. The inside of the lid bears the year the stein was issued and the original was fashioned.
