2002 King Limitat Beer Stein

This edition comes in two versions full-color and rustic colors, both are shown pictured. This stoneware stein is the third edition in the series. This handsome stein is based on a historic original, currently in the archives of King-Werk in Höehr-Grenzhausen, Germany. The renowned stein designer Gustav Thinwibel fashioned the original in Höehr-Grenzhausen around 1895. It depicts medieval professions, the carpenter, the blacksmith and the baker. The stein symbolized the high esteem the public attributed to these professions as being among the most important in the medieval society. The double lion with shield on the base of the stein depicts the royal surveillance of these professions, the most successful members of which could be honored by being named: Purveyor to his/her majesty the King or Queen.
