This edition comes in two versions full-color and rustic colors. This stein is the ninth in the series. This handsome limited edition collectible is a genuine work of art and is based on an historic original, currently in the archives of King-Werk in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany. Sculpted by famous stein designer designer Peter Duemler around the year 1880, this magnificent stein features scenes of the Old Testament and is a tributer to Melchisedech the King of Jerusalem, alson named the King of Probity. He is praised for being the first priest to use solely bread and water for the sacrifice to God denying the tradition of slaughtering of animals and even humans. The top panel features Abraham being stopped by God's Angel from sacrificing his son Isaak. The middle panels shows Melchisedech handing bread and water to Abraham to sacrifice them to God instead. In the lower panel Melchisedech blesses Abraham. The finely detailed scenes are beautifully hand sculpted in dramatic raised relief. A relief design is also on the genuine pewter lid.
