Now the bad news;

In the first time in over a decade we will not be getting the lidded version of the Official Oktoberfest Mug. It is not that we have not tried. Last week I received an email from the manufacturer plainly stating they are “out of the lidded version” of the mug. After further questioning from us, it just seems that they did not produce the lidded version as long as they have in years past. We ordered at the same time we always have, so I wish I had a better explanation. They have never released the quantities that they manufactured, but I was told in a round-about way that not as many were produced, figures. I do know that other retailers are offering this item for sale, which has only doubled my frustrations. How does Rastal have it for them but not us? We received no answer to that question.

We are truly sorry. Not only do we sell these, we collect these! So missing this item in our own collection is very frustrating. Again, we are very sorry. And the only assurance I can make to you is next year will be different.

What a whirlwind this holiday season has already been for us. We have sold out of the 2009 Budweiser Holiday, 2009 Coors Holiday & the 2009 Miller Holiday, well before “crunch” time. We may be able to get more of the 2009 Coors and the 2009 Miller, but it looks like the Budweiser will remain sold out; sorry to those that have gotten them from us yet. Anheuser-Busch has changed a lot about the way they do business, not in a good way. Two and half weeks ago I could order direct, then I couldn’t without any warning. What we will be able to get next year and what they will produce remains a mystery. These items (Coors, Miller & Budweiser) were featured for sometime on our website for pre-order and we specifically order based on those pre-orders. While it may not always be convenient to order your holiday mug in August, with the way things are headed it seems best to get them while you can. I am sorry for anyone that feels slighted and assure you we are trying to get what we can.

Each 9/11 always leaves my father & I torn. Should we be working today, when so many lives were lost and subsequently continue to be lost. Due to our proximity we know many customers and friends whose lives were touched by these heinous acts. The only comfort we can offer is we will not forget. I once heard a holocaust survivor speak and she said it best: “living is the best revenge”. So, we continue to move forward knowing that nothing will or can replace what was lost but hoping that somehow it has given appreciation for what remains.
