A brief interruption…

in our normally prompt shipping time will be occurring next week. Well, a few lucky orders will sneak out tomorrow morning, but from 4/27 until May 7th the shipping department will be closed. What that really means, that in our small dad & daughter shop, the daughter, me is taking a vacation. Yeah me! I do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause some of you and just hope you understand, we are a small shop, family owned and occasionally we like to do stuff normal people get to do. Those of you that stop in the shop and talk to me know that this is a fishing vacation. Hopefully we will have some good weather and good bites. I will still be answering emails during the week, so if you have a question please feel free to ask and I will do my best to respond in a somewhat timely manner. The retail store will have it’s normal hours, as my dad, will be here.

Leinenkugel’s Annual Mug

Miller and Coors will not be issuing an annual holiday mug this year. I know many of you will be disappointed. As the same parent company owns both Miller and Coors they decided to issue one mug this year. This years mug will be for Leinenkugel’s. 2011 Munich Oktoberfest

Yeah, they are in stock!!! Of course there was a hiccup this year, as always, but they were shipped so early this year we still have them before the actual Oktoberfest starts. This are one of our most popular collectibles and something my father collects himself. Each year features a different design, but the basic mug is the same shape, very nice when you have shelf placement to consider. Each mug also features a copy of the artist’s signature, which gives it a more personal touch in my opinion. A great mug for drinking, collecting or gifting.

Can it really be Oktoberfest time already? Well, at least for the steins. I think in an unprecedented first, we have pictures and pricing for the Oktoberfest mugs and stein in MAY!!! I can’t ever remember having the info this early. Don’t let the fact that Oktoberfest is so far away deter you from pre-ordering now. Why Coffee is Important?

If you are trying to access our website at this very moment, you may receive an error message about our licensing key. It is not a problem and we do apologize for the inconvenience. It seems in my diligence to apply the LATEST update to our website, to take advantage of some new features. I neglected to realize that it would take some time to be emailed the new license key and applied the update. This is why coffee was important!!! If I would have had my cup of coffee this morning I would have been alert. Right now I am sipping on my cup of java and patiently waiting for the ever elusive licensing key to be emailed to me. Sorry again for my blunder.

New Year, new beers.

2011 has finally arrived and with the New Year, my beloved father, has ventured to Maryland to bring forth new and exciting beers. One of the downfalls of the Pennsylvania system is you have to buy a case or six pack, but we want to try the beer first before investing in some of the delectable brews. Up first was Pipeline Porter from Kona Brewing Company. It was heaven in a bottle and I regretted sharing it with my dad. This beer has been put on the BUY A CASE LIST. If you have an exciting beer reviews to share, I would love to hear them. I am always looking at what will be my next great taste.

2010 Munich Oktobefest Mug

Great news, the 2010 Munich Oktoberfest have arrived in Philly! Yeah! But the best news yet is they have cleared customs and a record pace, which I think is a first for us. I hope to have this in stock at our retail store by October 12th. Pre-orders will begin shipping as soon as they arrive at our store.

Now the bad news;

In the first time in over a decade we will not be getting the lidded version of the Official Oktoberfest Mug. It is not that we have not tried. Last week I received an email from the manufacturer plainly stating they are “out of the lidded version” of the mug. After further questioning from us, it just seems that they did not produce the lidded version as long as they have in years past. We ordered at the same time we always have, so I wish I had a better explanation. They have never released the quantities that they manufactured, but I was told in a round-about way that not as many were produced, figures. I do know that other retailers are offering this item for sale, which has only doubled my frustrations. How does Rastal have it for them but not us? We received no answer to that question.

We are truly sorry. Not only do we sell these, we collect these! So missing this item in our own collection is very frustrating. Again, we are very sorry. And the only assurance I can make to you is next year will be different.
